Create Your Own Temporary Tattoos with a Gel Pen

Want to create your own temporary tattoo design? Try this method! In this guide, we explain how to make a tattoo using gel pens that you can buy at any stationery or art supply store.

Gel pen temporary tattoo idea

First, imagine your tattoo design before making it. Since the tattoo lasts several days, be sure you really like the design. Search for favorite tattoo images; this will inspire many ideas.

Tattoo layout

Draw the design using a dark gel pen. The gel ink transfers easily from paper to skin once finished. Sketch your drawing on tracing or parchment paper with pencil, then carefully color it with the gel pen. Avoid over-inking to prevent smudging.

Enjoy your new tattoo! It won’t last long, but is perfect for parties or events, staying fresh for a full day. Note: it will fade quickly upon water contact. P.S.
